THE BACK STORY -
Over the past 40 years I have owned several dogs. The one constant during that entire time was their bed - a cushion pad on the floor! Why? Because there wasn’t much else available.

I never quite knew what to do with that floor pad. Wherever it sat it never looked like it belonged. Not quite out of sight, or mind. And every so often I’d plump and straighten it as if that was going to turn it into something other than what it was - a rumpled-old cushion sitting on the floor. I remember thinking many years ago that someone should make people-beds sized for dogs and cats.

That thought eluded me until a recent visit with a friend who owned a dog. As we chatted in her warm and gracious living room her dog entered and flopped onto a gnarly cushion stuffed between two pieces of furniture. I mentioned my love-hate relationship with dog beds and told her about my pet bed concept. She said, "You should do it!" And I thought, "Why not?"
